Obedience Seminar with Celeste Meade

 “Without want-to in the dog, have-to will always dwindle down the attitude in your dog’s performance.” Celeste’s upbeat, motivational method of training combines “embracing the distractions, not correcting them.” Celeste believes that the ring should be the most enjoyable place for the dog. It should be a fast, fun series of obstacles with motivational “pickups” in between each exercise. “The time in between each exercise is a gift given to you by the AKC to motivate, reconnect, reduce stress, regain attention and set up for the next exercise.” This seminar will focus on ATTENTION, GAINING ATTITUDE, WANT TO vs HAVE TO, PROPER HEEL POSITION, CREATING DRIVE, USING IN BETWEEN EXERCISES TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. The seminar is open to all levels.

 This workshop shall encompass many aspects of competition obedience training, with the main focus on “The Want To vs The Have To” and keeping and “UP” dog between exercises.

 Some of Celeste’s accomplishments with Border Collie, Zoom, are:

• #1 Obedience dog in 2004, 2005                     ¢    on “USA World Team for Crufts (placed 13^th)

• over 100 HIT and HC                                      ¢   UDX 13 and 14 scores of 200

  Morning pastries and beverages will be provided. There will be a one hour lunch break

 Working participants should bring 1 – 2 dogs, LOTS of treats, a clicker, a flexi lead, a tug toy, a training collar, a buckle collar, 3’ and 6’ leads and LOTS OF ENTHUSIASM!
