Thursday Evening, October 4, 2007: "IN IT TOGETHER" EVENT PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED Due to unexpected circumstances, Dr. Schultz regrettably had
to cancel his attendance at this seminar. He feels extremely bad that he had to
cancel but circumstances just did not allow for him to be available for this
presentation. Please accept his apologies and those of the event committee. We
regret any disappointment this may have caused. A refund of any donation sent
for the event and the chowder/salad dinner can be obtained from the Pilgrim
Doberman Pinscher Club Table during the Nationals. Once again please accept the
apologies of Dr. Schultz and the event committee for any inconvenience this may
have caused.
Dr. Schultz is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pathobiological Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work has revolutionized the vaccination programs for dogs and cats used by veterinary practitioners worldwide. He epitomizes the "In It Together" theme with his open, approachable style and his commitment to the health of dogs and cats. The Rabies Challenge research includes concurrent vaccine studies that will determine the duration of immunity conveyed by the canine rabies vaccine, with the goal of extending the state-mandated interval for boosters to 5, and then to 7 years. Scientific data suggest that vaccinating dogs against rabies every 3 years, as most states require, is unnecessary. Researchers believe the rabies vaccine can cause adverse reactions including auto-immune diseases affecting the thyroid, joints, blood eyes, skin, kidney, liver, bowel and central nervous system; anaphylactic shock; aggression; seizures; epilepsy; and fibrosarcomas at injection sites. Please accept the opportunity to support this essential work by joining us Thursday evening, October 4, 2007, for New England chowder and salad, and a presentation by Dr. Schultz. The Pilgrim club will sponsor the event asking only for a donation to the Challenge Fund in return. Now for the fun...sorry, you'll have to come to find out but it's one to remember.
