Canine Good Citizenship Test (CGC)

The CGC test is not an obedience title but is a certification awarded by AKC as a beginning level of obedience training. Please feel free to sign up for an evaluation.

Schedule of Events

CGC Evaluations will be held on two dates and times during the Show - Tuesday October 2 and Friday October 5

Evaluations will be in the Lunenberg Room

CGC Times each day are 9:00 AM to 12:00 (NOON)

There will be an opportunity to pre-register for a time sign-in sheet will be at the hotel desk and club table or you can drop-in if times are available or e-mail me to pre-register a time

You will need to bring:

1.Collar (collar can be flat buckle, slip, Martingale, but no prong collars, training collars, or head halters)

2. Leash 4 or 6 foot

3. Brush or comb for grooming (I will have one, but the dog usually prefers a familiar brush or comb, mine has the scent of about 200 dogs on it!)

4. You will need the AKC Registration Number or ILP number in order to have the certification listed with the dog. If needed, the number can be added later with your copy of the paperwork that you send to AKC

5. As a donation to the National Show, I will be supplying CGC patches to all dogs who pass the CGC test at no cost. AKC does charge $5 for the certificate when you send the paperwork into AKC. I do not need this $5 at the test, you will send it as a check made out to AKC.

Starting on the first day of the show, I will have a time-slot sign-up sheet for folks to pre-select a time for the test (they take about 20 minutes). You can also do a walk-in during the scheduled times - but, there may be wait line. If you wish to e-mail me in advance for a time, that is fine also. Click HERE for a direct link to my e-mail.

Evaluator: Kevin P. England, CPDT, CGC Evaluator, Delta Society Licensed Instructor & Licensed Evaluator
